Good thing to note, their Saturday technician does leave at 1. I called ahead to check if they could receive a tow as I had a flat and was maybe 2000 feet down the road, and I think whoever answered the phone was in a corporate office and saw the same listed hours I did. He said that it would be fine as long as I was there by 2. I arrived around 1:20pm. This would've been a 1 star moment, as the technician had in fact left for the day, but I'm actually really impressed with how they handled it. The tech who left wasn't able to help, but the woman manning the counter today bent over backwards to help me, helped change my tire to a spare I had in the back so I could limp to another nearby tire shop, and filled all my tires with air to help make sure I could make it there. TL;DR, terrible corporate, but excellent people at the shop level.

Common questions and tips from our work with North Smithfield customers.
- How often should I get an oil change?
- Follow the interval in your owner's manual rather than a generic 3,000-mile rule. Most modern vehicles running full synthetic go 5,000 to 10,000 miles. The exception is short-trip driving, common around Slatersville and in-town Woonsocket, where the engine never fully warms up and moisture builds in the oil. Those vehicles benefit from the shorter end of the range.
- What's the difference between synthetic and conventional oil?
- Synthetic oil is engineered for more consistent viscosity, meaning it flows better on cold Rhode Island mornings and resists breaking down under heat. That translates to longer intervals and better protection, especially for turbocharged engines. Conventional oil costs less per change but needs changing more often. Many newer vehicles require synthetic outright. We check your manufacturer's specification before filling.
- Which other fluids need regular service?
- Coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and differential fluid all degrade over time. Coolant loses its corrosion inhibitors, transmission fluid breaks down under heat and is a common cause of shifting problems, and differential fluid matters on trucks and all-wheel-drive vehicles. We check levels and condition on every oil change and tell you what is due rather than selling a package you do not need.
Tip
Watch for spots in your driveway
Fluid color tells you a lot. Amber or dark brown is usually engine oil, red or pink points to transmission or power steering fluid, green or orange is coolant, and clear and oily near a wheel could be brake fluid. Any of those puddling under a parked car deserves a look. Note where it lands under the vehicle and mention it when you call us.
